Schwinn Aluminum Frame Pump

Schwinn Aluminum Frame Pump Review

Schwinn Aluminum Frame Pump Feature

  • Lightweight aluminum alloy frame pump
  • Comes with frame mounting bracket and Velcro strap
  • Dual nozzle accommodates Presta and Schrader valves
  • Ergonomic "T" handle makes inflating easy
  • Capacity: 100-psi
Lightweight, efficient, and affordable, the Schwinn Aluminum Frame pump keeps you inflated on the road and at home. With a 100-psi capacity, the pump is perfect for inflating bicycle tires, stroller tires, and any other small pneumatic wheels you may use. Thanks to its dual nozzle design, the pump accommodates Presta and Schrader valves easily. The streamlined pump can be attached to a bike tube with the included mounting bracket--or can be attached to most frames with the included Velcro strap. Finally, when you're ready to inflate, the ergonomic "T" handle folds down for a secure grip with plenty of leverage for easy pumping.

Featuring the Schwinn brand Americans have trusted for over one hundred years this pump is small enough to go with you anywhere. Bicycle tires and tubes require a fixed pressure per square inch (PSI) to function safely and at best performance. Home bicycle pumps allow riders to maintain this conveniently without costly or lengthy trips to the nearest service station. When mounted on a bicycle or stored in a glove compartment fear of being stranded due to low pressure becomes a thing of the past. PTI Sports products are designed with safety as the first and foremost concern and are constructed of high quality parts and materials to prevent degradation over time. Thoroughly tested, our products last through years of use before they are recommended for replacement, ensuring safe cycling for years to come.

Shimano PD-M520L MTB Sport Pedals with Cleats

Shimano PD-M520L MTB Sport Pedals with Cleats Review

Shimano PD-M520L MTB Sport Pedals with Cleats Feature

  • Shimano PD-M520L MTB Sport Pedals w/ Cleats.
Part of Shimano's line of lightweight XC bicycle pedals, this pair of sport pedals with cleats is suitable for either road biking or mountain biking. Distinctive features including an open binding mechanism that's better designed to shed mud, along with a low-maintenance, sealed-bearing cartridge axle.

Manufacturer's Warranty
Shimano warrants to the original retail purchaser that this product is free from non-conformities in material and workmanship for a period of two years and their Dura-Ace and XTR components are covered for a period of three years from the date of original retail purchase. Shimano footwear, soft goods and wheels are warranted for a period of one year.

About Shimano
In 1961, a 3-speed bicycle hub displayed at the New York Toy Show was the catalyst for what would eventually become Shimano American Corporation. The popularity of 20-inch wheeled bikes with hi-rise handle bars fueled a demand for multi-speed hubs and Shimano was producing an affordable and reliable version that caught the attention of the industry. So much so, that by 1965, Yoshizo Shimano, the youngest son of the company founder in Japan, opened an office in New York to get quicker product feedback and to provide technical and warranty assistance to retailers selling bikes equipped with Shimano parts.

Though Shimano American has grown from that first modest office staffed by only three people to a full distribution center with sales and marketing offices, the goals are the same: to ensure that Shimano always has a listening ear to provide feedback on relevant trends and needs of the North American market for both bicycle and fishing products and make those a reality for customers.

Whether you're looking to get started riding clipless pedals for the first time or you're a seasoned veteran looking to save money on a new build, the Shimano PD-M520 is a great choice. Featuring a durable steel axle, sealed bearings and an open, mud-shedding design, the PD-M520 does the job of a high end pedal at an entry level price. Includes one pair of two-bolt SPD cleats.

Amazon.com Bicycle Buying Guide

Finding the Right Bike
To really enjoy cycling, it's important to find a bicycle that works for you. Here are some things to keep in mind when you're in the market for a new bike:

The Right Ride
In general, bikes are broken down into three major categories:

  • Road and Racing Bikes--As a general rule, road and racing are built for speed and longer distances on paved surfaces. Thinner tires, lightweight 29-inch (700c) wheels, and drop bars that allow for a more aerodynamic position are the norm. Most road bikes, regardless of price, offer many gears for tackling both hilly and flat terrain.
  • Mountain Bikes--With their larger tires, hill-friendly gearing, and upright position, mountain bikes are very popular for all types of riding, both on pavement and off. Mountain bikes that are designed specifically for rugged trail use typically feature a suspension fork. Some may have rear suspension, as well. A quick change of the tires on any mountain bike--even one that you use regularly on trails--adds to its versatility and makes it a worthy street machine.
  • Comfort/Cruiser Bikes--For tooling around on bike paths, light trails, or for cruising a quiet beach-side lane, comfort/cruiser bikes are the ticket. With a super-relaxed riding position, padded seats, and limited or no gearing, these bikes are made for enjoying the scenery and having fun with the family.

The Right Price
A bike's price boils down to three essentials: frame materials, bike weight, and component quality and durability.

  • Entry-level--You'll find a wide range of comfort and cruiser bikes in this category, as well as some lower-end mountain bikes and road bikes. Most will have steel frames and components that are designed to last for several years with frequent use.
  • Mid-range--Bikes in this range may feature a lighter aluminum frame with mid-range components that keep performing after miles of use. If you're looking for a quality bike that is relatively lightweight and will stand up to abuse, this is the "sweet spot." Most serious commuter and touring bikes fall into this category, as do mid-range mountain bikes with a decent front suspension.
  • High-end--Racers and serious enthusiasts who expect lightweight, high-performance components will want to stick to this category. For road bikes, exotic frame materials (carbon fiber, titanium) and ultra lightweight components can add thousands to the price tag. Mountain bikes in this class often feature advanced front and rear suspension technology, as well as components designed to handle lots of rugged trail action.

The Right Size
Fit is crucial for comfort, control, and proper power and endurance on a bike. Here are some basic bike fit tips:

  • Stand-over Height--To find out if a bike's overall height fits your body, measure your inseam. Next, determine how much clearance you'll need between your crotch and the top tube of the bike. For a mountain bike, you'll want three to five inches of clearance. A road bike should offer between one and two inches of clearance, while a commuter bike should have two to four inches. Compare the stand-over height for a given bike to your measurements (inseam + clearance) to determine the right bike height.
  • Top Tube Length--You can measure your torso to get a good estimate of proper top tube length. First, make a fist and extend your arm. Measure from the center of your fist to the end of your collarbone (the part that intersects your shoulder). Next, measure your torso by placing a book against your crotch with the spine facing up. Measure from the spine to the bottom of your throat (the spot between your collarbones). Finally, add the two measurements (arm length + torso length), divide the number in half, and subtract six inches. This is your approximate top tube length. Compare this number to a bike's posted top tube length. You can allow for about two inches longer or shorter, as most bikes can be adjusted via stem length/height and saddle fore/aft position to make fine adjustments to the fit.
  • Bikes for Women--Proportionally, women tend to have a shorter torso and longer legs than men. Bike makers design women's bikes that offer a shorter top tube and many comfort/cruiser bikes built for women may also provide more stand-over clearance.

The Right Accessories
When you make a bike purchase, don't forget these crucial add-ons:

  • Helmet (this is a must!)
  • Seat pack
  • Lock
  • Hydration pack, or water bottle and bottle cage
  • Spare tubes
  • Portable bike pump
  • Gloves

The Polaris RMK (Rocky Mountain King) brings to you a long travel suspension fork, precision 21 speed Shimano drivetrain, front disc brake, and knobby all-terrain tires, all mounted to an aluminum suspension frame. Put that all together and you have a winning combination.

About Mongoose
Founded in 1974 in a Southern California garage, Mongoose has always been an innovator. From the company's initial cast-magnesium MotoMag wheels to its current crop of BMX, mountain, and pavement bikes, the Mongoose name has been synonymous with bicycle performance. Mongoose builds specifically for riders, which is why the company's BMX designers aren't wasting time watching reruns on ESPN2. Instead, they're constantly testing their new designs at the park, on the track, and on the hill. This continuous experimentation is what drives Mongoose to cook up things like the Front Porch head tube, which lets you fine-tune the handling on Black Diamond series mountain bikes, or Freedrive suspension technology, which eliminates pedal bob and provides a super-efficient full suspension. Mongoose bikes don't just push the limits; they set new ones. Mongoose Exile Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike
